Itemupdating properties afterproperties null dating members in

This is my first post in 2013, here I just want to discuss about Event Receivers in Share Point 2010 (SPItem Event Receiver class) and an important factor with the Event Receivers.

At your disposal on SPRemote Event Properties you have after Properties and before Properties, found by doing this: And those were the key to the problem: how to act on the firing only when the user changes something and not when it updates itself?

An Item Event Receiver, which is executed synchronously to prevent save conflict exception or problems with published items, was supposed to do exactly that.

But when I set the property of the item via After Properties, the value did not get stored.

the actual Add / Update operation for which the Adding / Updating event is being fired).

Do NOT try to manually get the list item in code and update a property on it because the optimistic locking mechanism in Share Point may throw an error later on when the operation associated with the event to which you are responding attempts to complete.
